For this 22-year-old transfer student from West Covina, California, UCSC was the choice because of the personal attention students enjoy here. “I thrive in places where people know me and are willing to help,” she says. Jessica plans to give back to the world by pursuing a career in higher education administration. “I want to work with students because I like helping people at a stage in their lives when they are changing. I want to provide guidance and contribute to their maturation,” she says.
